MLM Lead Source: Where To Get Great Targeted Leads For Free

Did you know that some of the most targeted MLM leads come from a completely, 100% free MLM lead source? That lead source is video.

Before I go further, let’s put one widely spread misconception to bed: Paying (or paying a lot) for a lead does not mean it is going to be a better lead than one you get for free.

Now don’t get me wrong, paid MLM lead sources are not bad (at all). In fact, you can get more leads faster many times via a paid source.

While you may not get as many leads as quickly, though, using free MLM lead sources — like video marketing — can produce equally good quality leads AND can be the perfect place to start if you are either new to marketing or are working with a shoestring budget.

I am sure some of you are thinking that video marketing really isn’t a free MLM lead source. You are thinking that while you can have a free video account and post videos for free, that it does cost money to buy the things necessary to create good videos. Not true…

Let’s start with what you need to record videos. You don’t need to have something like Camtasia in order to be able to record videos on your desktop. Grab the video desktop recording software at camstudio.org – it’s a watered down version of Camtasia and doesn’t cost you a dime.

Want to create webinars or slideshows for your video marketing, and you don’t have Powerpoint? You can also solve this problems totally for free. Two free applications you can get to make webinar and video slide presentations are Google Docs (you can setup a free account at docs.google.com) and OpenOffice Impress.

Finally, and perhaps one of the most important pieces to using video as an effective MLM lead source, you need to utilize the right keyword phrases so that your videos will have good SEO. Here again, no money is required to find good keyword phrases. Use Google’s keyword research tool (it’s free) – all you need now is an Adwords account (again, free) that you can setup in 5 minutes at adwords.google.com.

Remember that video marketing is a great free MLM lead source because of its ability to get people to find YOU. It is not dependent on how “professionally done” the videos are. So your rule of thumb should be to keep it SUPER simple…don’t have it professionally done or anything – keep it amateur and remember, Nothing fancy is necessary here to make this work effectively.

I always recommend that marketers use the “octopus” approach when designing their marketing strategy, i.e., that they have many tentacles (or different angles) to their marketing plan. What I do not recommend, however, is spending money you are not making yet to “build” your business. So if you are not already in profit in your business, you should rely initially on free MLM lead sources. One great one is video marketing. Once you are in profit, then start to reinvest and you can add more “tentacles” to your octopus-type marketing strategy.
