Your MLM Marketing System – 4 Ways To Get More Traffic

If you are a network marketer, then you know all too well how difficult it can be to get traffic to your website or data capture page. Beyond the difficulty in getting traffic in general, it can seem extremely difficult to get enough traffic and to get the “right” kind of traffic (i.e., targeted traffic). The answer to this problem is to create and utilize an MLM marketing system that accomplishes all of this.

Is it really that simple, though? Just put the right MLM marketing system in place and, all of a sudden, your website will be flooded with tons of laser beam targeted traffic? Well, actually yes . . . and no.

What happens to too many network marketers is that they fall prey to all the “hype,” “easy fixes” and “latest tricks” for getting traffic before they really understand the basics of what works to get traffic and how to do it. This often results in people wasting both a lot of their time and money.

it’s not that there aren’t some great “tricks of the trade” that you can (and should) eventually implement into your MLM marketing plan. It’s that you need to understand the basics of traffic getting and implement those basics into your MLM marketing system before you add on the “fancy” extras.

Here, then, are four keys to getting more traffic that should be part of every network marketer’s MLM marketing system. All of these things will absolutely create more targeted traffic and leads.

1. Brand Yourself (Not Your Company): Probably the most important “basic” component to getting more traffic to your site — and something that should be an absolute cornerstone of ANY good MLM marketing system — is to brand yourself (and not your company) as the expert. What I’m talking about here is that instead of making the mistake that so many network marketers make in promoting the company or the business opportunity, what you want to do is to promote yourself as being the expert who has the answers to the problem or the questions people have (in terms of what your product does). Doing this is one of the best ways to get more traffic (and, more importantly, to get extremely targeted traffic) to your website.

2. Conquer One Area At A Time: There can also be a lot of overwhelm when it comes to creating an MLM marketing system. Article marketing, web 2.0 properties, PPC, PPV, blogging, Facebook advertising, classified ad sites, not to mention the latest and greatest” new forms of getting traffic. With all of this out there, it is easy for network marketers to feel as though they should be dabbling in all of these areas right away. This is a mistake, and will likely not garner enough or the quality of traffic you would like to be getting. It’s sort of like that saying that says “a jack of all trades; a master of none.” So what you want to do is to focus on just ONE form of traffic at at time and get REALLY good at it. There are MANY good sources of traffic. It doesn’t matter which you start with, just pick one and master it! Once you have done that, then add a new type of traffic to your MLM marketing system and master it, and so forth, and eventually you will have an arsenal of traffic generators working for you.

3. There Is No “Holy Grail”: When it comes to traffic, it is important to understand that not all types of traffic are not created equal, and that all types of traffic have their pluses and minuses. What I mean is that despite what you might have heard, there is no one, perfect, “end all be all” source of traffic. Ideally, what you want is for your MLM marketing system to utilize multiple sources of traffic simultaneously. The objective is that all those sources together will garner you a steady and plentiful stream of quality, targeted traffic and leads.

4. Listen To The Hype With A Grain Of Salt: I alluded to this a bit above, but one of the biggest mistakes in terms of getting traffic is to get too swayed by what I call ‘traffic hype.’ You have likely seen, or have been bombarded in your email inbox, with daily claims of shortcut or magical methods to get tons of traffic without doing a thing to get it. Don’t get distracted when the latest “you gotta have this” source of traffic pops up. If I had a dollar for every email I get (and I’m sure you too) that screams, “Get this tell all book (video, audio, whatever) for $100 I’d be filthy rich,” I wouldn’t need to still be in business. Remember that your MLM marketing system should be just that: a system. It’s not one-trick pony or a bunch of gimmicks.
